The Faces of Luminex: Molly Frazier, Marketing

With Luminex’s large workforce and active marketing department, you might imagine that there are loads of ongoing projects at any one time. This could quickly lead to chaos if it weren’t for Molly Frazier, Copywriter & Marketing Coordinator, who has been keeping the trains running on time since joining the company in 2016. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University.

The Faces of Luminex: Molly Frazier, Marketing

Q: What are your responsibilities at Luminex?

A: I do a lot of project management for projects from internal users requesting new sales collateral, such as white papers or flyers. I manage all of those projects, handle editing, assign them out to designers, and put them through a rigorous approval process before releasing the final materials to the team.

Q: What did you do before this?

A: I designed newspapers. I had graduated with a degree in mass communications and print journalism, and it wasn’t until my senior year of college that I realized I didn’t want to do journalism. But by then it was too late to change.

Q: What drew you to Luminex?

A: I had been working with recruiters, trying to break into marketing. This opportunity fell into my lap, and Luminex was willing to take a chance on me.

Q: If you could solve any clinical or genetic challenge, what would it be?

A: Cancer. I’ve seen a lot of people affected by it, including my dad who got cancer when I was in eighth grade. Thankfully, he’s been in remission since then, but there’s always that fear of it coming back. It would be wonderful if families didn’t have to go through that.

Q: If you weren’t at Luminex, where would you be?

A: I wanted to be a teacher for a really long time. I knew in middle school that I wanted to go to Sam Houston because it had a great teaching program. But two weeks into my first class, I realized it wasn’t for me.

Q: What is something about you that no one at Luminex knows?

A: Most people don’t know that in my free time I help out a dog rescue called Reggie’s Friends. I manage the website and help as much as I can. The last three dogs I’ve gotten have been from there.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Austin on the weekend?

A: My husband and I have been trying to go to more of the distilleries around Austin. The locations are always cool and outdoorsy, and I love bringing my dog along.
